Care Process and Fees

Care at Wander Well Acupuncture is collaborative, individualized, and rooted in East Asian medicine. This page offers an overview of how we work together, including session options, fees, and payment, so you can decide whether this approach feels supportive for you.

Payment and reimbursement

Wander Well Acupuncture is a private pay practice. Insurance is not billed directly.

Some insurance plans offer out-of-network reimbursement for acupuncture services. When applicable, a superbill is available upon request for you to submit to your insurance provider. Reimbursement depends on your individual plan and is not guaranteed.

What to expect

Before your first visit
You will be invited to complete a comprehensive online intake prior to your appointment. This helps ensure our in-person time is focused on care.

During your visit
All appointments are scheduled as private sessions.

Standard acupuncture visits may include acupuncture along with supportive therapies such as cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, or red light therapy, based on your needs that day. Needles are placed and you are then given time to rest quietly in the room.

For Integrated Sessions, which may include acupuncture, bodywork, energy work, and supportive therapies, I remain in the room throughout the session.

Session lengths are 60, 90, or 120 minutes, depending on the service selected.

Your care plan
Your initial follow up visit includes a personalized East Asian medicine care plan that may evolve over time. Recommendations may include diagnostic insight, supplements, and diet and lifestyle guidance, and are shaped collaboratively based on your response to care.

Pacing of care
Recommendations around frequency and duration of care are discussed together and adjusted as your needs change. For cycle regulation or chronic conditions, weekly visits are suggested.

HSA and FSA

Many patients choose to use HSA or FSA funds for acupuncture services. Please check with your plan administrator to confirm eligibility.
